Overview

The understanding of the importance of petrochemical industries was the basis for a group of industrialists who thought in 1980 about establishing a company to set up a petrochemical complex to produce specialty products. Following a feasibility study, the company was established and named Intermediate Petrochemicals Industries Company Limited to serve the needs of Jordan and neighboring markets with its products.

The company was established in 1980 following the obtaining of know-how agreements from international companies who designed the plants and participated in the initial startup of the different facilities and production units of the company. The company started production in 1984 to cover part of the needs of the local and neighboring markets of these products and other related products. The company consists of six individual production units equipped with highly selected types of machinery and types of equipment from well-known European companies, in addition to various services and utility stations. These facilities are built on 67000 square meters of premises which include more than 11500 square meters of covered steel structures, 6500 square meters of concrete buildings in addition to 4800 cubic meters of storage tanks.
